Working with me

I hope to work together to create a space where you feel safe, cared for, and welcome to explore deeper layers of your experience. My work pulls from several approaches to therapy, with a foundational belief that trusting relationships are a necessary force in well being. I strive to be aware of the influences of culture, power, and privilege on relationships. This includes the relationship between you and I, which I intend to approach with openness and humility.

  • I provide individual psychotherapy and relationship counseling. I also offer single session assessments for gender affirming surgery letters of support.

Relationship counseling may include monogamous, non-monogamous, and/or platonic relationships such as parent/child, siblings, friendships, roommates, co-workers, etc.

  • One specific kind of therapy I provide is to treat symptoms of OCD. I offer OCD assessment for those who are wondering if they may be experiencing OCD. I also utilize I-CBT to help clients reduce the amount of intrusive thoughts and worries that are impacting their every day lives.

  • Humans are an integral part of the natural world. Ecotherapy focuses on fostering this connection and recognizes that honoring our belonging to nature is vital for the well being of all things living. Through collaboration, this is something I am happy to integrate into our work together.

For some clients, this framework means we take therapy outside to take a walk or sit in the outdoors. For others, ecotherapy can be practiced indoors by incorporating nature as metaphor or allow nature to help guide the topics discussed. Some examples of this could be:

    • conversations about your bond with nature

    • how spending time outdoors impacts your life

    • your relationship to pets

    • concerns about disconnect from nature

    • concerns and grief related to climate change

  • Within my practice I see people of many different backgrounds and identities. I am dedicated to providing culturally specific and informed counseling services to those who identify with queer and trans identities, as well as those with trans and queer children or family members. As a trans queer person, I am aware of the difficulties of finding competent physical and mental health care providers. I hope to join you in shared understanding, while also remaining aware that we both have our own lived experience.
